Hi there, and welcome to my website. I hope it will give you a flavour of the kind of artist and performer that I am. The intention of this page, combined with the other social media platforms that I’m on is to represent my musical journey to date and the great passion that I have for the songwriting, gigs and recording that I do. I have things to say and my music is the vehicle.
My goal is to be as honest and authentic as possible. Hopefully you will get a sense of that through the web pages and other platforms.
Thanks for tuning in..

“John Wroath strode out onto the stage in his usual confident manner. The man plied his trade in the pubs and clubs and is so is well versed in the working of an audience, greeting us with a cheeky, ”If you’re not happy now, you will be in an hour!“ Commencing with the world weary THESE DAYS and the compelling SOUL MATE, he began to mesmerise the crowd with his booming presence and energy, filling the venue with a refreshing authenticity and charm. The full range of his songwriting was on show now, with the soaring YELLOW GIRL and the clever lyrics of PING, the beautiful imagery of THE DADA REPUBLIC and the raw emotion of THE BALLAD OF THE POOR MAN delighting the faithful. He then demanded our attention on the brilliant FANTASTIC PLASTIC PEOPLE and the ‘in your face’ LISTEN UP, with both songs challenging those present to consider the shortcomings of postmodern western culture and it’s materialism and greed. Then there was the stunning departure of TODAY, TOMORROW AND YESTERDAY, a true ‘phoenix from the flames’ ballad, impeccably delivered”.
“The highlight of the show for this writer was the superb and haunting CIGARETTE BURNS, Wroath’s commentary on the rigours of addiction and heartache, resonating with everyone there”.
“This guy has the lot. A great voice, great songs with memorable choruses, a massive stage presence and true likability. As he ended the show with the a crowd pleasing LOOKING AT THE STARS and the rousing JUST A LOVER, I realised that what impresses me most about JW is the way he delivers every time I see him play. A true star in the making. Somebody please give him a Record Deal!”
